Barnsley PDA

Barnsley CCG has developed a Practice Delivery Agreement (PDA) which is a local contract between the CCG and its Member practices. The Barnsley Practice Delivery Agreement aims order to:-

  • Invest in the Primary Care infrastructure to deliver high quality equitable services for the registered population of Barnsley as close to home as possible
  • Support Primary care sustainability through a longer-term investment profile
  • Deliver a targeted approach to the demographic health challenges on a Barnsley footprint and on a local practice basis
  • Build a mutually accountable relationship that is centred on improving health outcomes in Barnsley

Each year the PDA is reviewed to ensure it remains fit for purpose and meets the needs and aims described above. Although the PDA is subject to change annually its main focus is around, Medicine Optimisation, Demand Management and reducing health inequalities and variation in Primary Care. The scheme is worth £4.2m which is divided between the 33 practices according to list size and is distributed on the achievement of set targets and Key Performance Indicators.
